Finsec members vote to accept ANZ National offer

Finsec members at ANZ and National banks voted this week to accept an improved offer after a public campaign which took aim at the bank’s “in a perfect world” advertisements.

The final deal included key union demands of a cast iron guarantee of future pay rises for back office and call centre staff whose pay scales were changing and a working party to look into call centre rotational shifts.

Union Council Chair Graham Lee said that while the majority of members had voted to accept the offer, there were still big concerns about ongoing issues such as targets and staffing which were not addressed by the bargaining.

“The good news is that bargaining is not our only opportunity to deal with these issues. We have an additional paid union meeting next year to talk about pay, and a working party to investigate shift arrangements in call centres. There is plenty of work for us to get on with,” said Graham.
