Our campaign success – new offer from ANZ National to go to vote

Finsec members’ campaign for a different offer from ANZ National has had a successful outcome this week.  Last Friday’s day of action and bargaining this week have seen the bank make movement on key issues that members identified.

Important changes include:  winning the cast iron guarantee we originally proposed for call centre and back office staff in relation to future pay increases, the removal of all the negative changes to schedule D for call centre staff and the establishment of a working party to look into roster issues as we proposed.

Finsec Bargaining Team Chairperson Graham Lee says that all members who took action last week should feel satisfied that our campaign has had an impact. “We held great pickets in Auckland and Wellington, impacted call centre service levels, wore stickers, wrote postcards and faxed the bank’s negotiating team.”

“While we didn’t get the one year term we wanted, we have won a review mid way and an additional stop-work meeting for union members,” said Graham. “We now have a new offer for members to vote on. Ratification meetings will be taking place over the coming two weeks, and details on the offer are being sent to all worksites.”
