Overwhelming reject vote on ANZ National offer

Finsec members have made a very clear decision to reject ANZ National’s offer, in the ratification ballot that closed this week. 70% of members voted, and 70% of those voted against the offer.

Union Council Chair Graham Lee said that a public campaign to change the offer would now kick off. This campaign will include using the media to create pressure on ANZ National to change their offer.

“All Finsec members will need to get active in the next few weeks in support of a different offer,” said Lee. “The bank needs to listen to this very strong message from their staff that their current proposals are unacceptable.”

The Westpac ratification ballot closes this coming Tuesday.
