One (low) range to rule them all!

ANZ National’s claim to move to one set of salary ranges for all roles (the lowest) in bargaining this year does not impress many Finsec members. Underlying the bank’s claim is the assumption that current staff in contact centres and operations are overpaid, and pay scales would be cut from between $386 and over $6000 for new staff.
Finsec member Stacey Tagatauli from the Contact Centre in Wellington says that many staff are not keen on the idea, and don’t agree that they’re currently overpaid. “We’re already doing work beyond our roles, so people aren’t digging a cut down scale for new staff. The bank’s claims for bargaining take us backward or at best stand still, while Finsec’s claims take us forward.”
Finsec members at ANZ and National are currently having pre-negotiations meetings to discuss both sets of claims and participating in a collective activity to support the bargaining team.
