Finsec members swap claims with ANZ National

Finsec and ANZ National have swapped claims this week. Union members’ claims include a 5% wage increase and commitments on staffing and targets. ANZ National has chosen to put forward a major shake up of the pay scales for new staff.

“The bank has chosen the worst pay scale as the one going forward. The fair thing to do would be to use the best. This change says the bank thinks Operations and Call Centre staff are paid too much,” said Finsec Campaigns Director Andrew Campbell

“The bank proposal means people will be paid less than their colleagues for doing the same job. New staff in operations and contact centres will be paid less than their colleagues just because they started later,” said Campbell.

Other proposals from the bank include not giving the pay increase to staff graded C or who are paid more than the salary scale for their role, getting rid of the 15% loading for new staff in the contact centre and a 2 year term.

More information is being posted to ANZ National worksites today.
