In a bizarre global recession retribution story, five German retirees aged 61 to 80 have been found guilty of kidnapping the American financial advisor they blamed when their investments went sour.

They hatched a plan to kidnap financial advisor James Amburn, who the defendants say owe them $700,000 from his southern Germany home and imprisoned him at a vacation home in Bavaria. Amburn managed to send a coded plea for help in a fax he sent to his bank.

Might be lucky for Bernie Madoff that he’s safely behind bars!
