What the Hay?

Finsec members at the Technical Help Desk at BNZ in Wellington are standing up to the bank’s proposed re-grading of their roles and withholding of key information about the decision.

The BNZ is looking to move the job roles down in the grading system, and part of the union members’ response was to ask for the formula the bank used to determine the role should be downgraded – using the Hay system of job evaluation. Finsec members were surprised when the bank refused – and wondered how they can assess the fairness of the change without all the facts?

Finsec members are now pursuing a legal strategy to obtain this important information from the bank. The Gossip will keep you posted on any developments in this case.
