Marathon effort leads to great result for Finsec members at Credit Union South

A marathon effort of 17 months of bargaining has led to the settlement of a good agreement for Finsec members at Credit Union South. A new collective agreement has just been signed off with a 6% pay increase over two years, plus a goodwill 1% and a $250 lump sum for union members only as well.
Bargaining team member Trevor Hurring from the Dunedin Branch said members were very happy with the outcome, and acknowledged that the delay in settling was partly due to the organisation going through major changes.

What’s the secret of their success? “We’re 100% in the union,” said Trevor. “It’s what makes us so strong, knowing everyone is on board.”

The Gossip understands that members from the Credit Union Dunedin site will be celebrating their success tonight at the local pub. Well deserved!
