Infant feeding and rest breaks your legal right from April 1

On April 1, legislation giving workers rights to rest and meal breaks and breaks and facilities to breastfeed babies comes into effect.

Employers will be required to provide appropriate facilities and breaks for staff to breastfeed or express milk, as far as is “reasonable and practicable”. The breaks are paid only by employer agreement, and are in addition to lunch and other breaks.
