Meal money and a taxi chits for shift workers at Westpac Call Centres

Yellow taxi At Collective Agreement negotiations earlier this year Finsec members campaigned collectively to win big changes and improvements to the hours of work clause for Call Centre staff:

  • Normally, rotational shifts will only be rostered 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday. In Sales Direct this is 8am – 8.30pm Monday – Friday.
  • A number of current Finsec members who were working rotational shifts outside of these hours regularly and have identified that they want to change to within the normal hours have been moved to these hours.
  • Where, due to urgent unforeseen circumstances, or to provide relief for situations of relief, the bank has to roster a rotational shift outside of the normal hours, then the person working that shift receives meal money and a taxi chit to the value of $15 (if required to get to a place of safety).
  • You have to be given two consecutive days off per week unless you agree otherwise.
  • You can still shift swap.
