ANZ National members return to negotiations next week seeking fairness

National day of Action at Night and Day House, WellingtonANZ National Bank staff across the country are undertook a day of action yesterday following their rejection last week of the bank’s offer in employment negotiations. Bank staff wore ‘fairness for all‘ stickers and did other activities to highlight the inadequacy of the bank’s offer.

A key reason that staff rejected the offer is that the bank is not prepared to offer the pay increase to all staff.

Most of the staff excluded from the bank’s pay offer are some of its longest serving and most loyal workers. This offer demonstrates a lack of appreciation for their commitment to the bank and the continuity of service they have provided to the bank’s customers and communities.

A common theme that has come through in people’s messages is that these negotiations represent an opportunity for the bank to live up to its values and show staff how much it really does value their work, experience and service.
