BNZ Union Council launch plan to win

BNZ Union CouncilThe BNZ Union council has a plan to make BNZ a Better Bank and over the two weeks from 16 -27 July.  Finsec will be running paid meetings around the country consulting with BNZ members on that plan.

It’s been two years since BNZ union members last negotiated their collective employment agreement with the bank. Since then a lot has changed.

Finsec members launched the Better Banks industry campaign and have delivered results.

  • Every other major bank with a collective employment agreement has had significant pay rises. Last year salary rates (including overtime) for finance and insurance workers increased 5.0%. The average increase for other workers was only 3.1%.
  • No other major bank with a collective employment agreement now has its pay system directly linked to targets like BNZ does. Westpac has agreed to remove targets from its core pay system and the ANZ National pay system rewards skills, not targets

Now the BNZ Union Council has a plan to make BNZ a Better Bank too. Union members at BNZ need to attend a paid union meeting to vote on the strategy to make BNZ a Better Bank
