One collective agreement at Westpac

Sara MacintyreFinsec members at Westpac will begin voting next week on their collective employment offer. Last week we reported on the pay parity and target pay aspects of the offer. Another important aspect of the offer is that it joins the separate Phone Assist collective agreement on to the main Westpac collective agreement.

Sara Macintrye, a Westpac Union Councillor at Phone Assist, says that this is an important change after years of campaigning:

“We got it by sticking to our goal over the last few years. It hasn’t happened overnight. We showed Westpac it is something we all believe in and by not giving up we were able to achieve that.”

“Combining the two collective agreements gives us better bargaining strength. Now we are united under one collective agreement and can stand together and campaign for the same things”
