Off to Bangalore

Mr BurnsSt George Bank in Australia announced that 60 Collections staff at Kogarah and 16 Group Card Services staff in Adelaide will have their jobs will be offshored to IBM in Bangalore.

The Australian Finance Sector Union (FSU) is appalled at the Bank’s failure thus far to consider any options to protect these jobs, and has condemned St George for its short sighted approach that sees short term cost savings pursued over long term loyalty to its staff.

“Companies like St George that make millions of dollars in profits every year have a responsibility to provide secure jobs for Australians – just because they can save a few dollars sending jobs offshore does not mean they should do so.”

Meanwhile, also on the topic of outsourcing, here is the video Mr Burns showed his factory in preperation for outsourcing it to Banglore.
